COMMUNITY SERVICE

By the grace of God each of us can participate in His mandate to bless others. Being a blessing is not contingent on whether we are fi nancially well-off , or whether we have an abundance of time, each one of us, regardless of our station in life, is able to be a blessing in both small and big ways. When we witness students in the Lentera school system blessing the community through work projects, or food distribution, or students in Dian schools working to clean up the neighbourhood, we see that the vision of the Founders is being realized.

Students and teachers, administration and parents, from across the Foundation, have all actively demonstrated servant leadership by engaging in community projects and service. Whether it is SPH International students traveling to Aceh, or UPH students being involved in Medical outreach to areas like India, and Temanggung, Indonesia, we have all played a role in blessing the nation.

Over 25,000 people from within the Foundation this year took up the call to “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Mathew 5:16). From benefi t concerts for Japan, and Dad’s working with their children to build a basketball court, to reading programs and working aboard the USNS Mercy Ship to Maluku Province, we have seen the diff erence that people who love God, and serve Him wholeheartedly, can make!
